Colorado Trees - (change of title)Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 9 May 2008 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. A second from the archives - it was a very bright day in this Colorado park, but it seemed to work sans color. Eric, this is funny; I thought it was in Texas, but it is actually in eastern Colorado, about 100 miles east of Pueblo and 50 miles or so west of the Kansas border off Rt. 50. Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits. ---~--- Philippians 4:13 'We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.' ... <*}}}><

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaHowdy Judy. I like your B&W picture of these beautiful trees in Texas. 9 May 2008 5:55am @Marion: It was really burned out by the sun, but in B&W it's not too bad. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaSplendid trees and yes sometimes it's better in b&W lol 9 May 2008 10:20am Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesThe high contrast in B&W works fantastically here. Where in TX was this taken? 9 May 2008 11:11am @Eric Fry: In a deserted campground near a dam, but for the life of me I don't remember where. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanThe B&W works amazingly well! The majestic trees seem to be on parade! 9 May 2008 2:33pm @Japanalia: I've been answering, replying and posting my new album for hours and hours ... now trying to reply to the AM3 comments. Jeffster from Long Island, United StatesVery nice b&w. I think the high contrast works well on the trees, but, I would reduce the contrast on the grassy area. 9 May 2008 5:59pm @Jeffster: I tried to burn it, Jeff, but it turned a strange color of gray, so I left it. Observing from Chester, United KingdomVery good high contrast image, the shadows are great 9 May 2008 8:49pm Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaNice angle and it looks good in black and white :) 9 May 2008 8:57pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesThis is a very nice tree row. My first glance said "live oaks," but then I noticed the title and realized this is not live oak country. So whatever kind of trees these are, probably some type of oaks, they sort of fill a similar niche. Great photo! 9 May 2008 11:07pm @Viewfinder: Thank you, VF ... and I do not know what kind of trees they were either. Barbara from Florida, United StatesExcellent framing and perfect for B&W. The line of trees pull the view in. Great shot Judy. 10 May 2008 3:35am Jeffster from Long Island, United StatesJudy - continuation from previous comment. If you have Photoshop, I would select that area and either use "Levels" to darken the area, or reduce the Contrast and the Brightness. Just a thought. 15 May 2008 5:22pm @Jeffster: I have an older PS program, but don't know it well. I'll have to see if I can find out how to select and darken the areas you mentioned. |
