Memories...

What a beautiful memory for Kayla and all of us.
This photo was taken during a family reunion in June, 2005.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

Such beautiful smiles.

@Marion: Those beautiful smiles live on in our memory.....

Memory - All alone in the moonlight - I can smile at the old days, I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was - Let the memory live again

Every street lamp - Seems to beat a fatalistic warning
Someone mutters - And the street lamp gutters - And soon it will be morning

Daylight - I must wait for the sunrise I must think of a new life And I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes Tonight will be a memory too And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days - The stale cold smell of morning
The street lamp dies, another night is over - Another day is dawning

Touch me - It's so easy to leave me - All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun - If you touch me -You'll understand what happiness is

Look - A new day has begun

@Lorraine: As the words and melody of "Memory" (from Cats) runs over and over in my head, I too, thank God for all the photos I zealously took over the years.

I love that song too, and how uncanny, I remember listening to this song over and over again after losing my dad and soon after my mom, I wonder if the writer of these heartwrenching lyrics lost someone too...

@Lorraine: We may never know what the composer was feeling when the lyrics were written, but it's neat to know they touched you as well, at a time of loss.
