Is this a Prince?

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 17 March 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Last week, Chris posted some boiled-over hot chocolate, asking his wife not to clean it up until he shot it. ... His photo prompted me to post this one of mine.

In the middle of the night, I went to use the bathroom and when I felt something wet, I wondered why. I turned on the light and immediately called for my husband, who came running. "Wait, don't pick him up yet I said, I want my camera!" Thank goodness I didn't squash him! ... My husband collected him in his hands and took the poor, pale creature outside! ... It seems the frog came down the vent pipe from the roof and found himself in the bowl, then jumped to the seat, pale and frightened. ... Let me assure you that Mike installed vent caps the very next day!!!

PS: This is my token green - Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!

My goodness, you do have guts! I wouldn't have as much as a breath left after a"wet" encounter in the night! (It looks so golden-like....hmmmm....it might have been a Prince!!!)

@Japanalia: We'll do most anything for a photo, right? <grin>

Betty from New Jersey, United States

Oh my gosh! Things can come in through the vent in the roof? That frog has a good sense of direction! What a shock in the middle of the night!

@Betty: We expect that the frog may have jumped to the top rim of the pipe and then fallen......he did seem pretty pale. Maybe it was from fright! <grin>

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

You should have kissed him to see if he was a Prince!! He is very cute and I'm not sure who was braver, you or the little frog. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too Judy.

@Marion: Hmmm, kiss him or take his photo? I opted for the latter! xo

Chris from South Jersey, United States

This is too funny!! I guess that will teach you to go to the bathroom with the lights off!! I guess pretty soon we are all going to have to take our cameras with us everywhere, lest we miss a shot!!

@Chris: Well this posting is 'your fault' you know - or maybe your wife's! <grin>

With a face like that who could harm him. So glad you capture a shot of him Judy, we would all miss out on a good laugh.
Happy St. Patrick's Day... there are still minutes left.
He really is a cute prince in disguise.

@Barbara: ....... I didn't kiss him to find out! LOL

clarence from Irving, TX, United States

At least it wasn't a snake, yes, they do that ,too.

18 Mar 2008 7:04pm

@clarence: Whoa ... if it had been a snake, you would NOT have gotten to see it's photo!
That's interesting - I didn't know that about snakes.
Come to think of it, I have a photo of a black snake in a birdhouse my husband made, that stands about eight feet off the ground on a piece of pipe.
