Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaOh, how beautiful Judy. Such clarity and I just love it against the black. 12 Mar 2008 6:02am @Marion: Thank you, Marion ... I expected you would like this one. :D @lidia: Thank you, Lidia! @Betty: ... and thank you also. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaIt is the most beautiful white rose I have ever seen ;) 12 Mar 2008 11:04am @Lorraine: Awwwwww, you're making me blush! :D Chris from South Jersey, United StatesGreat contrast of the white rose against the black - it is a beautiful flower (how lucky that you have roses this time of year!!). 12 Mar 2008 2:02pm @Chris: Well.......the frost really hurt the bush, and this is the only rose so far, but hopefully we can bring it back. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanThe effect is stunning against the black background! 12 Mar 2008 3:21pm @Japanalia: Thank you, Gabriela. Mandy from South AfricaGorgeous Judy!!! Such a lovely take and a beautiful bloom- your garden must be really gorgeous 12 Mar 2008 7:00pm @Mandy: How I wish I could say the "garden" is gorgeous - this is the only rose, at least for now, on a not-too-healthy bush, hit very hard by our winter's heavy frost. :( Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaBeautiful, excellent contrast to the background, well done! 12 Mar 2008 7:50pm @Ina: Thanks, Ina; I like it also! @MSD: Thank you very much! @Porcsin: Thank you, Porcsin ... it was taken on our porch, with a flash, so the background ended up pretty much blacked out. I assisted with a little darkening. Elisa from Massachusetts, United Statesgreat macro!!! and great effect! nice job!! 12 Mar 2008 11:22pm @Elisa: Thank you, Elisa. Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThere is simplicity and endless wonder in looking at a rose like this. I now know from tomorrow’s shot (ah, the wonders of science!) that it is a little smaller than it appears here but nonetheless sweet indeed. 16 Mar 2008 2:22am @Ronnie 2¢: Yes, the stand-alone photo does make it look larger, but the real 'rose' in the following photo is our granddaughter. She is a survivor of a malignant tumor in her pancreas - and now wants to become a doctor. |
