Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

I like this picture. Wow this has been a super good series for you and I sure have enjoyed it. Love the smoke from all the fires. What is that girl with the hoody and the running shoes on doing in your picture? Just noticed her. :D ... hugs, Marion

@Marion: Hee, hee ... if I'd seen her, I would have tightened my focus!
She was wandering through MY scene! :D

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Isn't that something, my eyes totally went to the lady in sneakers she highlighted the rest...wonderful compo, as always Judy :) oh and also LOVED the earring on the guy the other photo, I love these touches of now within a re-enactment.
PS Did you ever see the movie Ben Hur with Charlton Heston ...in one of the race scenes about to start, you see a little red sports car...LOL how naughty lol

@Lorraine: Very observant you are! As I wrote to Marion, if I'd seen that gal I could have tightened my shot, but as you say, it adds a bit of the "now" to it.
Yes, I saw Ben Hur many 'moons' ago, but can't say I ever saw the "little red sports car." Funny!

Peter Miller from Lichfield, United Kingdom

I love these type of re-enactments, I have a few to post myself, sometimes it is difficult to get a decent shot without the public, I can see you have tried, nice photo

@Peter Miller: Thank you, Peter - sometimes we just can't avoid the "now" in these shots. *smile*

Ina from Krugersdorp, South Africa

Very nice shot, I like it!

Ok, I didn't notice the hoody girl until somebody commented. Then it took me a few seconds to spot her. So much for my powers of observation; this is still a really cool image Judy.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

There's one intruder, on the right, in jeans....otherwise it would be a perfect replica of a Union camp....how many years ago????

12 Feb 2008 12:10pm

@Japanalia: Yes, others picked out the girl on the right too, Gabriela, and as I wrote them, if I'd seen her when composing the shot, I would have tightened it up. <grin>
Had it been real, it would have been about 144 years ago!
