Yoshiyuki's Folding Calendar

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 5 February 2008 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

This is Yoshiyuki's photo of the Shinjuku Imperial Gardens.
You can see that there are six small calendars, one for each of the first six months of the year. The photo itself, has a matte finish, which makes it look as though it were a silk screen. It is truly beautiful!

Your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I'll visit as time permits.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Lovely presentation, Judy! The background suits the colours on the little screen! (I'm very fond of miniatures, these folding screens included! We have them here,in shops, with works of famous Japanese painters. I found, well before Christmas, a set of holiday cards imitating folding screens and I showed them to Yoshiyuki. That was the beginning and it evolved into what we have here....which is a far cry from the cards!)As I have said before, we offered them to you because I knew you'd love them!

@Japanalia: I am so pleased that you like the presentation - it is second-best to actually seeing it, but I do love the silk look of the photo and it wasn't lost in the photo. It's interesting to know how these came into being, Gabriela and you can tell Yoshiyuki for me that he is a master of duplication!
You're right, I do love them!!!
