One Old Canon

Many canons were carted from various places in the US to take part in the Brooksville Raid. I liked the contrast between the light-colored tents and the black iron.

That contrast you mention is wonderful, Judy. That cannon looks so authentic but the tents perhaps a bit too clean?

@Michael Skorulski: I wondered about the clean tents also, but the men treat their tents like 'gold' and the only thing you see on them is a little sap from the trees.

I like the angle you found here, Judy, with the tents (in a variety of shapely parts) as a background for that cannon!And the tree branches on the far background add a lot to the beauty of this composition!

As already mentioned, great composition. The tree to the left and tent to the right nicely frame the image, and the cannon against the tents with the muted colors on the ground and in the background really add to the image. Nicely done.

Great one Judy. It is like you walked into their camp and capture a moment in time. I wonder how it would look in sephia to give the tents a more rustic look. Just thought of that as I wrote. But I like this the way it is.

@Barbara: I've played with some in sepia, Barb, and I like them, but I also love the muted colors and then the contrast with the flag colors.
