Pyracantha or FirethornPosted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 12 December 2007 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. This small tree inside the entrance of our community is always so lovely at Christmastime! Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits. ---~--- Philippians 4:13 'We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.' ... <*}}}><

Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesThat is the first time I've seen pyracantha in tree form. I've only seen it in bush form previously. Well documented! 12 Dec 2007 6:51am @Craiger: I'd never seen it in tree form before seeing this one. I believe it was planted without benefit of a trellis, maybe supported upright until it grew stronger. It's twisted trunk tells me it struggled during it's growth, but it certainly is beautifully filled with berries! ... Thanks for your comment. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanWe have plenty of them around and as full of berries...maybe, this year, more then before! You're lucky with that sky that makes the contrast so pleasant! 12 Dec 2007 12:06pm @Japanalia: Oh, I'm happy to hear that we share this bit of beauty, but these hardly compare to your Maples!!! |
