We have such things in Japan, too. Japanese ladies are very skilful with their hands. Of course, the patterns are different, but as colourful!I must say I feel always tempted to buy one......and then I don't!

@Japanalia: Thanks, Gabriela. This intricate work is very time consuming, thereby making the purses quite expensive relative to their size. I too was tempted to purchase one.....but didn't either.
